Peacock hosted a lively and unforgettable Summer BBQ at the Universal Studios Backlot to mark the return of BEL-AIR for its highly anticipated third season. The event was a true celebration of the beloved series, blending entertainment, music, and community spirit.
The highlight of the evening was an electrifying performance by rising star Coco Jones, who treated the audience to her new single “Here We Go.” In a memorable moment, she invited Will Smith to join her on stage for a duet of his iconic hit “Summertime.” This special performance perfectly captured the essence of the BEL-AIR state of mind and set the tone for the evening’s festivities.

The event brought together a host of BEL-AIR cast members, including Jabari Banks, Coco Jones, Adrian Holmes, Jimmy Akingbola, Olly Sholotan, Akira Akbar, Jordan L. Jones, and Simone Joy Jones. They were joined by executive producers Will Smith and Morgan Cooper, as well as showrunner, executive producer, and writer Carla Banks Waddles. The celebration also welcomed special guest stars such as Jazlyn Martin, Justin Cornwell, and Alycia Pascual-Peña, adding to the star-studded atmosphere.
Guests indulged in a feast of BBQ favorites from notable eateries including Trejo’s Tacos and celebrated black-owned culinary staples Earle’s on Crenshaw and Eagle Rock BBQ. The Summer BBQ event also introduced the concept of “Blackccess,” a term coined this season by Will and Carlton to signify “Black Access.” This was brought to life through a Blackccess Flea Market, featuring three black-owned vendors and exclusive Blackccess merchandise.
Host Charles Kuykendoll ensured the vibe remained upbeat throughout the evening, with engaging yard games, iconic photo opportunities, and music spun by DJ Meel. The event provided multiple opportunities for guests to immerse themselves in the newest chapter of the Banks family saga: Summertime in BEL-AIR.

In addition to celebrating the new season of BEL-AIR, the event spotlighted NBCUniversal and State Farm’s Open Doors initiative, which supports small businesses nationwide, with a special emphasis on minority-owned enterprises.
The new season of BEL-AIR is set to premiere on August 15, exclusively on Peacock, with the first three episodes available at launch.
