
“Exclusive: Victoria Bazúa Reflects on Her Experience with Eva Longoria and Carmen Maura in ‘Land of Women
Apple TV+ presents Land of Women, streaming now and delivering the perfect blend of feel-good vibes and beautifully shot drama. Starring and executive produced by Eva Longoria, renowned for her iconic role in Desperate Housewives, she returns to television as Gala. When Gala discovers that her husband is on the run from dangerous in NYC, individuals to whom he owes millions, she knows there’s only one place to hide: the Spanish town her mother fled decades ago in a similar moment of desperation. In a fit of panic, Gala whisks her daughter Kate (newcomer Victoria Bazúa) away from school and her mother, Julia (Carmen Maura), from her retirement home.

To celebrate the release we sat down with Victoria Bazúa who is making a remarkable debut in Hollywood with Land of Women, where she portrays Kate, Gala’s (Longoria) daughter.
When reflecting on her role and the broader representation it brings, Bazúa emphasized “I hope viewers see that the trans community are human beings. We deserve respect and love. Our gender identity is just one part of who we are.” Her character, Kate, is more than just her identity; she’s an artist, a teenager, and a granddaughter, adding depth and authenticity to the story. Bazua also shared what it was like working with Longoria and Maura, and what she learned from them.
