Anna Faris Reveals Her Wild Idea for the Next Scary Movie
For fans of the Scary Movie franchise, seeing Anna Faris return as Cindy Campbell is a nostalgic dream come true. During a recent interview with Who Let Us Out, Faris reflected on stepping back into one of the most beloved comedy roles of the 2000s, reuniting with familiar faces, and even shared her hilarious vision for where the franchise could go next.
When asked what it was like returning to Cindy after all these years, Faris compared the experience to rediscovering something she thought was lost forever.

“It was like putting on your favorite pair of perfectly worn Levi’s that you thought were stolen for 26 years,” Faris said.
The actress admitted she never expected Scary Movie to become such a lasting part of her career. She recalled receiving a call from Marlon Wayans in early 2025 informing her that the franchise was returning, kicking off what she described as a surreal and joyful journey.
“I did not envision Scary Movie to be a part of my life in this way,” she explained. “It’s been surreal and wonderful that I got to act with everybody again.”
The return has also given Faris an opportunity to celebrate the impact the franchise has had on audiences for more than two decades. According to the actress, reconnecting with cast members and hearing from longtime fans has been one of the most rewarding parts of the experience.
Of course, no Scary Movie conversation would be complete without discussing potential future sequels. When asked what horror villain or subgenre she’d like Cindy to tackle next, Faris delivered an answer that instantly sounds like a movie fans would line up to see.

“I have a fantasy of Cindy and Brenda in space,” she joked.
While the idea may not fit neatly into traditional horror, Faris quickly embraced the concept, imagining zero-gravity adventures, aliens, and plenty of comedic chaos.
“We can throw alien in there,” she laughed.
The interview also touched on her emotional reunion with Marlon Wayans and the creative team behind the original films. For Faris, returning wasn’t just about revisiting a character—it was about reconnecting with an important chapter of her life and career.
“It felt like reclaiming something that I didn’t think I could get back,” Faris shared. “To come back and sort of reconcile my own sense of my place in comedy by getting to act with the people that are my origin story—it has been unbelievable.”
Despite her decades-long career and countless fan-favorite performances, Faris still seems genuinely moved by the love audiences continue to show Cindy Campbell and the Scary Movie franchise. And if her enthusiasm is any indication, fans may not have seen the last of Cindy just yet.
One thing is certain: if Anna Faris ever gets her wish, Cindy and Brenda’s next adventure might just take place among the stars.
