Dodgers’ Will Smith Swaps His Mitt for Chicken Fingers in Championship Celebration at Raising Cane’s
The Dodgers clinched another World Series title, but superstar catcher Will Smith isn’t done catching wins or chicken fingers! Just days after launching a game winning home run in the 11th inning to seal the Dodgers’ 9th championship, the three-time World Series champ took his celebration to Raising Cane’s on Sunset Boulevard, where he surprised fans by working a “shift” behind the counter.
Hundreds of fans made out in Dodger blue packed the restaurant, chanting “Let’s Go Dodgers!” as Smith stepped behind the counter alongside Raising Cane’s Founder and CEO Todd Graves and his daughter, Sophia Graves. The All-Star catcher jumped right into the action serving Craveable Chicken Finger Meals, bagging orders, buttering toast, and even trying his hand at the Drive-Thru window.

“After that home run, I figured it was time to keep catching just this time, it’s Cane’s sauce and chicken fingers,” Smith joked with fans, as he posed for selfies and signed baseballs, jerseys, and hats.

The energy hit a new level when Graves took the stage with Smith to make a special presentation a $100,000 check to Smith’s Catching Hope Foundation, which supports under resourced youth through leadership, literacy, and fitness programs. The crowd roared as the duo held up the donation check, celebrating not just another Dodgers championship but also Smith’s ongoing commitment to giving back.
Todd Graves praised Smith’s impact both on and off the field. “Will’s a champion in every sense of the word,” said Graves. “He’s not just winning games he’s inspiring kids and strengthening communities. We’re proud to celebrate that with him.”
As fans lined up for selfies and Cane’s boxes, the atmosphere felt more like a parade than a lunch rush. With chants of “Three-Peat!” echoing down Sunset, the Dodgers’ catcher and Cane’s crew proved that when it comes to serving up joy whether it’s chicken fingers or championships Will Smith delivers every time.
Now that’s what we call catching wins, catching hearts, and catching Cane’s. One Love
