
Cast and Filmmakers from “Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord” Host Special Screening at Lucasfilm
Cast and filmmakers from “Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord” gathered in San Francisco for a special fan screening event at Lucasfilm. Fans were treated to the first two episodes of the all-new animated series. At the screening, Dave Filoni, Lynwen Brennan, the executive producers, and Sam Witwer as Maul welcomed fans.
The series will premiere exclusively on Disney+ on April 6, 2026. The series releases two episodes weekly, with the final two airing on May the 4th, Star Wars Day. Lucasfilm has already confirmed that Season 2 is in production.
Set after Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the story follows Maul as he rebuilds his criminal syndicate on a planet untouched by the Empire, crossing paths with a disillusioned young Jedi Padawan who may become his apprentice in a relentless quest for revenge.

Dave Filoni created the series, developed it with Matt Michnovetz, and Brad Rau served as supervising director. Executive producers include Filoni, Portillo, Michnovetz, Rau, Carrie Beck, and Josh Rimes, with Alex Spotswood as co-executive producer. The voice cast features Sam Witwer, Gideon Adlon, Wagner Moura, Richard Ayoade, Dennis Haysbert, Chris Diamantopoulos, Charlie Bushnell, Vanessa Marshall, David W. Collins, A.J. LoCascio, and Steve Blum.
Fans can look forward to an action-packed, character-driven story that expands the Star Wars universe.
