Samara Weaving, Karl Glusman & Shawn Simmons Talk Eenie Meanie + Samara Teases ‘Ready or Not 2’ & Reacts To Harley Quinn Fan Casting
In the high-speed chaos of Eenie Meanie, there’s more than just burnt rubber and dark laughs—there’s heart, history, and a whole lot of humanity. Stars Samara Weaving and Karl Glusman, along with writer-director Shawn Simmons, recently opened up about the making of this genre-defying film, why it hits harder than your average chase movie, and what it taught them behind the scenes.

Thrills, Romance, and Real-Life Driving Lessons
Eenie Meanie is part action flick, part dark comedy, and part unconventional romance. For Samara Weaving, known for her scream queen status in hits like The Babysitter and Ready or Not, the film was a shift.
“This was a departure for me,” she said. “It’s not a horror movie—I’m not always covered in blood! But it still taps into that high-stakes energy I love. What really drew me in was the story beneath the chaos.”
Her co-star Karl Glusman plays John, the maddening but magnetic ex she just can’t quite shake. “There’s a lot of history between them,” Karl shared. “It’s that kind of messy relationship we’ve all seen—or been in—where no one on the outside understands why you’re still holding on.”
The Director’s Personal Touch
For director Shawn Simmons (Wayne), Eenie Meanie was more than a car-chase caper. “I come from a tough town, and I love writing about people who only have each other,” he explained. “At its core, this is about two people who might be bad for each other—but they’re also the only family they’ve got.”
That depth, Simmons says, is what makes the movie stand out. “Sure, it’s fast and funny. But it also hits emotionally. I want people to go in expecting a fun ride and leave thinking, ‘Wow, I got way more than I expected.’”
Practical effects and real stunts were also key. “The car chases had to be real. Once you fake that, the whole emotional world starts to feel fake too.”

Behind the Scenes of Ready or Not 2
Samara Weaving also briefly touched on the much-anticipated sequel to Ready or Not. While she stayed tight-lipped on major details, she confirmed the project is moving forward.
“They’ve already made some announcements,” she said, “so if you look closely, there are a few visual spoilers out there.”
But shooting the film wasn’t without drama—real-life drama. “A week before filming, I threw my back out. I couldn’t walk. We were panicked. I had to get an epidural. It was a miracle I recovered in time to shoot—it popped back in two days before. I believe in miracles now.”
What Eenie Meanie Taught Them
Every movie leaves a mark—and for this trio, Eenie Meanie was no exception.
Karl learned to loosen up: “I used to bring everything to set already decided. This one taught me to just show up and play—trust the people around you.”
Samara? Well it taught her how to drive like she is in a Fast and Furious movie.
For Simmons, it was all about leadership. “Shake every crew member’s hand. Laugh with the grips. When the crew feels like it’s their movie too, you get magic.”
Expect the Unexpected
At the end of the day, Eenie Meanie isn’t just a fast, fun flick—it’s a surprisingly grounded story about why we hold onto people, even when we shouldn’t.
And if Samara’s track record (and miracle recovery) is any indication, she’s not slowing down anytime soon—on screen or off. Watch Eenie Meanie on Hulu Friday!
