Wicked is finally coming to the big screen after two decades of being a much loved musical. The untold story of Oz’s witches stars Emmy, Grammy, and Tony-winner Cynthia Erivo (Harriet, Broadway’s The Color Purple) as Elphaba, a young woman misunderstood for her green skin and yet to uncover her true power. Ariana Grande stars as Glinda, a privileged, ambitious young woman still searching for her true heart. As students at Shiz University in the fantastical Land of Oz, they forge a profound friendship that, after a fateful encounter with the Wizard, will change their lives—and Oz—forever. Their extraordinary paths ultimately lead them to fulfill their destinies as Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
The film also stars Oscar®-winner Michelle Yeoh as Shiz University’s headmistress Madame Morrible; Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton, Fellow Travelers) as Fiyero, a carefree prince; Tony nominee Ethan Slater (Broadway’s SpongeBob SquarePants, Fosse/Verdon) as Boq, a kind-hearted Munchkin student; Marissa Bode as Elphaba’s beloved sister, Nessarose; and Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard of Oz.
