With Marvel keeping everything under wraps, speculation has been swirling about Malkovich potentially taking on a major role such as Red Ghost. His response? Well, it was classic Malkovich—enigmatic and entertaining. Rather than directly addressing the Fantastic Four rumors, he cleverly steered the conversation toward his role in Opus. The actor stars as the enigmatic, spooky-ooky pop-god Alfred Moretti in the upcoming A24 film, bringing his signature gravitas to the mysterious character.
John Malkovich Revealed This About Con Air
Of course, we also had to ask about his experience filming the iconic action thriller Con Air, which starred Nicolas Cage, Danny Trejo, and a lineup of Hollywood legends. Malkovich shared that it was one of the first movies he had done with such a huge group of men, which he found hilarious. He also mentioned that he got to act alongside people from diverse backgrounds, including football players, boxers, and fighters—characters he wouldn’t often get to interact with in theater.
Opus will be in theaters March 14.
