Franklin Richards, the Silver Surfer, and the Multiverse: Fantastic Four – First Steps Trailer
Marvel’s first family is almost here, starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quin. Set in an alternate universe in the 1960s, a space-age utopia, the Fantastic Four is already well known as the world’s protector, people can rely on. Now, things are about to change, and people start to question when a visitor comes to Earth, and Reed Richards is not sure how to save their world from the devourer Galactus.
After traveling up to space to be exposed to cosmic radiation and saving the world, the Fantastic Four are famous in their world, and things are about to change when Susan Storm is pregnant. Reed and Susan’s child, Franklin Richards, named after Susan’s father, Franklin Richards, will be the most powerful being with vast reality-manipulating powers. At a young age, Franklin can create a universe, alter reality, rearrange the molecular structure of matter, and even resurrect Galactus then became his herald. Nothing will happen yet until we see Franklin Richard in Fantastic Four: First Steps and Avengers: Doomsday.
In the comics, Galactus encounters the Silver Surfer, previously known as Norin Radd, visiting his home planet to consume the planet’s energy. To save Norin Radd’s planet, he sacrificed himself to serve Galactus and then became the Silver Surfer. Norrin Radd’s sacrifice is saved not only for the people on his home planet but for the woman he loves,s Shalla-Bal. Serving Galactus, the Silver Surfer, he is forced to search for other planets throughout the galaxy for Galactus to feed off to survive.
In Fantastic Four First Steps, it differs from the upcoming movie as the Silver Surfer is female, not Norrin Radd. The new Silver Surfer, played by Julia Garner, is confirmed to be Shalla-Bal, Norrin Radd’s love interest. Shalla-Bal becomes a herald for Galactus, but as fans’ backlash against the idea, it won’t mean that Norrin Radd is not the Silver Surfer just yet, but could already be serving for Galactus somewhere else in the Galaxy. There have been rumors of a Marvel Studios special presentation project about the Silver Surfer. No confirmation yet if this project will take place after the events of Fantastic Four First Steps, Silver Surfer Origin Story, or focus on Norrin Radd as the Silver Surfer.
Since the first Iron Man, after 17 years of bringing in the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, defeating Thanos, and Multiverse Adventures, none of that will exist in the Fantastic Four’s universe. As confirmed by the director, Fantastic Four: First Steps will take place in an alternate universe, and heroes such as the Avengers, X-Men, or Spider-Man will not exist in their world and will not have easter eggs in the movie. Same with the Avengers’ universe as the Fantastic Four or the X-Men don’t exist in their universe, despite both movies being made by 20th Century Studios and Disney having no legal rights until later to bring in many actors from some of the projects to reprise their roles in the latest MCU Multiverse movies.

Next year, all will be together, the Fantastic Four, The Avengers, and the X-Men from many Marvel projects will form together in Avengers: Doomsday to face Doctor Doom.
