Exclusive Interview: “Borderlands” Cast and Crew at Epic LA Fan Event
Chaos has officially been unleashed in Los Angeles! Lionsgate hosted a star-studded Fan Event Screening of “Borderlands” at the TCL Chinese Theatre, with an incredible ensemble including Cate Blanchett, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Edgar Ramírez, Florian Munteanu, Gina Gershon, Janina Gavankar, Benjamin Byron Davis, and Bobby Lee walking the red carpet to celebrate the film. Filmmakers, including director/co-writer Eli Roth, producers Ari Arad, Avi Arad, Erik Feig, executive producers Tim Miller, Emmy Yu, and game creator Randy Pitchford, joined the cast on the carpet as well. Borderlands cosplayers, fans, and special guests enjoyed a dunk tank manned by masked bandits, a Hart House food truck, and a Moxxi’s Bar activation in partnership with Ballantines. The experiential event was a vibrant celebration, blending the excitement of the film’s cast and crew with the enthusiasm of fans dressed in their favorite themed cosplay.

We had the opportunity to speak with the talented cast and crew about the hard work and excitement of bringing the popular video game “Borderlands” to life. Eli Roth shared insights into the creative process of adapting the game for the big screen and mentioned other video games he would love to bring to life. We also spoke with Jamie Lee Curtis, Bobby Lee, Benjamin Byron Davis, Kevin Hart, Florian Munteanu, and the father-son producing duo Ari and Avi Arad, known for some of your favorite films.
Creating a film like “Borderlands” is fun and exciting, filled with unpredictability, but the cast and crew made it a fantastic experience. Their enthusiasm and dedication to the project were evident, promising a thrilling adaptation that fans will love.
The Executive producers also gave us some interesting and fun answers about the production.
Knowing Eli Roth’s reputation for horror, we couldn’t resist asking him if there was a particular horror movie of his that scared him the most. Unsurprisingly, he confessed that none of his films scare him!

In “Borderlands,” Kevin Hart takes on the role of Roland. Given his previous experience with video game adaptations, notably “Jumanji,” we asked him which game he would prefer to be stuck in: “Jumanji” or “Borderlands.” Hart enthusiastically chose “Borderlands,” humorously noting that in “Borderlands,” he gets to “shoot it up.”
The premiere was a thrilling night filled with excitement, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the art of adapting beloved video games into cinematic experiences. Catch Borderlands in theaters this Friday!
