
“Beyoncé and Blue Ivy Unite as Nala and Kiara in ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’
Disney’s sneak peek of its upcoming film, “Mufasa: The Lion King,” has caused quite a stir since its release today, adding a new star to its already stellar cast. The film features Blue Ivy Carter in a fresh voice role alongside her mother, Beyoncé. The film traces the origin story of Mufasa, the iconic king of the Pride Lands.
“This story begins far beyond the mountains and the shadows, on the other side of the light. A lion was born without a drop of nobility in his blood. A lion who would change our lives forever,” the trailer voiceover says.
Beyoncé will reprise her role as Nala, with Blue Ivy voicing Kiara, the daughter of Nala and Simba. This casting will poignantly highlight the mother-daughter relationship, bringing a deep sense of love and connection to the forefront of the story.
Director Barry jenkins explained his decision to cast Beyonce and Blue Ivy in the film together to PEOPLE, “I thought there was something really lovely about having this mother and daughter get to play together, to work together.”

The movie boasts an impressive lineup of talent that will bring both new and beloved characters to life. Lin-Manuel Miranda, an award-winning songwriter, is crafting the film’s songs, produced in collaboration with Mark Mancina. Additionally, the soundtrack will feature music and performances by Lebo M.

We are eager for audiences to see this film in theaters.”
