From the Diamond to the Drive-Thru: Will Smith Trades His Catcher’s Mitt for Cane’s Sauce!
Los Angeles just can’t stop winning and neither can three time World Series Champion Will Smith. After helping the Dodgers clinch their second straight title in all 5–4 Game 7 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays, Smith is taking his championship energy straight to the counter at Raising Cane’s.

The All-Star catcher is stepping behind the register for a special “victory shift” at Raising Cane’s new Sunset Boulevard location on Wednesday, Nov. 5, from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. PT. Fans lucky enough to attend can expect to see Will in a whole new uniform swapping home runs for hot Chicken Fingers and calling orders instead of pitches. Smith will be signing autographs, snapping selfies, and serving up Cane’s Sauce for a group of pre-selected super fans as he joins the Cane’s Crew for one morning only.
Will’s Cane’s cameo isn’t just about celebrating the Dodgers’ victory—it’s also about giving back. During his shift, Smith will accept a $50,000 donation to his nonprofit, the Catching Hope Foundation, from Raising Cane’s founder and CEO Todd Graves.
The foundation, founded by Will and his wife Cara Smith in 2021, is dedicated to empowering under resourced children by helping them build leadership, literacy, and life skills. From community events to fitness and mentoring programs, Catching Hope gives young people the tools they need to succeed both on and off the field.
Graves, who’s known for supporting athletes and their philanthropic missions, called the donation a way to celebrate Smith’s championship spirit while amplifying the good he’s doing off the field. It’s no surprise that Smith earned a little chicken fueled celebration. In this year’s World Series showdown, he delivered a .276 batting average and six RBIs, including a go-ahead home run in the top of the 11th inning of Game 7 that sealed the Dodgers’ championship win.
That clutch hit added another golden moment to his growing legacy and gave fans yet another reason to call him one of baseball’s most reliable postseason performers.
Raising Cane’s and Los Angeles go together like Chicken Fingers and Cane’s Sauce. The Sunset Boulevard restaurant one of Cane’s newest locations has become a hot spot for fans to celebrate local sports milestones, and Wednesday’s event is shaping up to be the ultimate blend of sports, community, and crispy celebration.
Between the cheers, selfies, and sauce, one thing’s for sure: Will Smith knows how to bring the heat—whether it’s from the batter’s box or the fry box.
