One Wicked cast member had plenty to say about his co-stars! When Ethan Slater appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show, he couldn’t help but rave about Ariana Grande—his talented co-star and current girlfriend—as well as the rest of the ensemble.
“Ariana is so funny. Her comedic timing is brilliant, and she’s just incredible in this movie,” Ethan shared, his admiration clear. “She’s a true comedy genius.”

Ethan didn’t stop there, though. He praised his entire Wicked family, noting how each cast member brings something remarkable to the film. “Everyone’s fantastic,” he said. “Ariana and Cynthia [Erivo] add such depth to their characters. Seeing them bring these iconic roles from stage to screen is so special.”
In conversation with Jennifer Hudson—an Oscar-winning veteran of stage-to-film adaptations herself—Ethan reflected on the unique experience of watching this beloved story come to life in an entirely new way.
“You know, there’s something unique about playing a role on film versus on stage. On film, you really have to live in those moments,” Ethan explained. “Their performances were just stunning—so full of nuance and beauty.”
He then couldn’t resist adding, “And Ari is absolutely hilarious. I wish people could see some of the outtakes that didn’t make it into the movie!”
