Pennywise Comes To Life Inside Warner Bros. Behind the Horror Tour
Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood transformed into a cinematic playground for horror fans this Halloween season, and we got an exclusive invite to experience the chills firsthand.
Table Of Content
As part of the studio’s limited-run “WB Behind the Horror: Tour & Screening” event, guests were treated to an after-hours look at one of Hollywood’s most legendary backlots. For four nights only, the studio opened its gates for fans to step behind the screams and explore how Warner Bros. brings its most terrifying stories to life.

Walking Through Hollywood’s Haunted History
From the moment we entered, the energy felt electric. We toured through the backlot streets where classic films from the 1920s through today were brought to life — and yes, many of the original props are still intact and preserved deep within studio storage. Our guide led us through eerie basements and dimly lit soundstages, each packed with iconic artifacts from decades of moviemaking magic.
The Muschiettis Take the Stage
The highlight of the evening came when Andy and Barbara Muschietti, the sibling duo behind IT and the upcoming HBO series Welcome to Derry, joined the crowd for an intimate Q&A. They spoke passionately about their shared love of horror, their creative partnership, and how their most infamous creation, Pennywise, continues to evolve.
The discussion gave fans a deeper appreciation of their approach to storytelling — how they explore fear not just as a scare tactic, but as a reflection of human emotion. Andy even teased new layers of Pennywise’s backstory that will unfold in Welcome to Derry, a prequel set in 1962 that dives into the origins of Derry’s curse.
Screening “IT: Chapter Two” on the Lot
After the Q&A, guests gathered at the Steven J. Ross Theater, where IT: Chapter Two screened under the stars — and who better to introduce the film than Andy and Barbara themselves? Watching Pennywise’s return to the big screen, surrounded by the very sets and props that helped build the IT universe, was pure horror magic.
The event also featured themed snacks and beverages on Brownstone Street, which had been transformed into a festive Halloween hub for the occasion. From frightful lighting to eerie ambient sound design, every inch of the lot oozed spooky movie energy.
