Universal Horror Unleashed Delivers Real Fear All Year Long
Universal Horror Unleashed officially kicked off horror season in Las Vegas last night with a star-studded red carpet, celebrating the launch of the brand-new, year-round experience from the masters of fear at Universal Destinations & Experiences. And I have to say—I left with a lot. Honestly, I might even like these mazes more than Horror Nights, and that’s saying a lot.
What stood out right away is how the focus here is on fear and atmosphere rather than size. Even though there are only four haunted houses, they are killer, literally. Each one feels more detailed, more immersive, and more self-contained, like you’ve fully stepped into its world.

If I had to crown the scariest? The Exorcist: Believer. I screamed way too many times. But I also really appreciated the insane attention to detail inside Universal Monsters and Texas Chainsaw Massacre—as a fan, you’ll catch plenty of Easter eggs and lore sprinkled throughout. My hope? That they rotate out houses over the year to keep the adrenaline going for returning visitors.
Another highlight was the Blumhouse-themed tapas bar, which pulled inspiration from some of their most iconic films. The cocktails were solid without being overpowering, and the food selection was surprisingly big—you won’t have to wander far to refuel between scares.
The whole spectacle features eight live experiences in total: four haunted houses, four immersive scare zones with live entertainment, plus themed food, drinks, and exclusive horror merch.

Here’s the lineup of houses you can step into:
- Universal Monsters – face off against legendary creatures.
- Blumhouse’s The Exorcist: Believer – relive every bone-chilling moment of demonic possession.
- Texas Chainsaw Massacre – try to escape Leatherface and his twisted family.
- Scarecrow: The Reaping – a fan-favorite original story where vengeful scarecrows haunt desolate farmland.
From the second you enter the abandoned production warehouse, the terror begins. Scareactors, monstrous creatures, and immersive areas lurk in every shadow, setting the stage for Las Vegas’ newest horror playground.
The grand opening was packed with star power, too—Bravo’s Shannon Beador, Jennifer Pedranti, Dorinda Medley, and Ashley Darby; Blumhouse founder and CEO Jason Blum; Atomic Monster founder James Wan; actress Madeleine McGraw; legendary SFX artist Greg Nicotero; Bel-Air stars Jabari Banks and Jordan L. Jones, and more. Guests were welcomed by scareactors, immediately throwing them into the chaos of the night.

Now officially open inside the AREA15 District, Universal Horror Unleashed is the ultimate year-round destination for scares in Las Vegas.
