Step Into the Wasteland: Fallout Is Coming to Halloween Horror Nights 2025
Let me start by saying: I thought I was prepared for Fallout. I’ve played the games, binged the Prime Video series, and even own a bobblehead Vault Boy. But nothing—and I mean nothing—prepared me for stepping into The Wasteland in real life.
Table Of Content
This year, Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights has officially gone nuclear. For the first time ever, Fallout is getting the haunted house treatment, and I had the absolute (un)pleasure of previewing it before it opens to the public on August 29 in Orlando and September 4 in Hollywood. Let’s just say… this isn’t your average stroll through the Vault.
Vault 33: Where It All Goes Wrong
It all starts underground in Vault 33, where you follow Lucy MacLean (yep, that Lucy) during her escape from a gruesome massacre. It’s claustrophobic, tense, and dripping in 1950s retro-future dread. And then—you guessed it—everything goes to hell.
From there, it’s straight to the surface. Welcome to The Wasteland, baby.

Raiders, RAD Roaches & That Ghoul
On the surface, I found myself dodging savage Raiders, gaping at fully-armed Scavengers, and honestly screaming (a little too loudly) at the terrifyingly oversized RAD Roaches. Like… why did they have to move so fast??
I even ran into The Ghoul, whose eerie calm made him 10 times scarier than anyone yelling at me. And yes, Maximusshows up too—T-60 power armor and all. That suit is massive up close, and so beautifully detailed I almost forgot I was running for my life.
Iconic locations like the Super Duper Mart are recreated so perfectly, it felt like I’d been zapped straight into my console. The attention to detail is insane. (And the smell? Weirdly… authentic.)
Tickets, Tours, and Screams—Oh My!
If you want in on the nightmare (and trust me, you do), here’s what you need to know:
🎟️ Tickets and vacation packages for Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights are on sale now for 48 select nights between August 29 and November 2. You can grab single-night tickets, or upgrade with Express Passes, R.I.P. Tours, or the lights-on Behind the Screams tour.
💀 For the ultimate early access, check out the Premium Scream Night on August 28, a one-night-only, limited-capacity event that lets you experience the scares before the crowds.
🌆 Over on the West Coast, Universal Studios Hollywood is offering everything from General Admission to Express Passes, Early Access Tickets (start screaming at 5:30 p.m.), and multi-night options like the Frequent Fear Pass.
Merch Worth Hoarding in Your Stash
Fallout fans, get ready to throw caps at your screen: an exclusive Fallout merchandise collection is dropping at both parks. The limited-edition t-shirt and tumbler are available now, and they’re nuclear-hot. Plus, there’s a cool collectible puzzle piece set based on this year’s haunted houses—you’ll want to piece this one together ASAP.
Final Verdict: 10/10 Would Get Spooked Again
Whether you’re a Vault-dweller or a Wasteland wanderer, this haunted house is a dream-turned-nightmare for Falloutfans. It’s immersive, terrifying, and surprisingly emotional (seriously, poor Lucy). If you’re heading to Halloween Horror Nights this fall, make Fallout your top priority.
