Dewey’s Back?! Ghostface Is More Violent as Legacy Cast Reunites at the Premiere of Scream 7
The Scream 7 premiere in Hollywood was a full-on Woodsboro reunion. Legacy favorites like Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Matthew Lillard, and Skeet Ulrich joined the new generation—including Isabel May, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, and McKenna Grace—for a night that perfectly blended nostalgia and fresh scares. Even Scott Foley and special musical guests like Ice Nine Kills, Sueco, and Stella Lefty added to the buzz, making it a truly unforgettable premiere.

One of the best moments came from chatting with David Arquette, who opened up about Dewey and his place in the franchise. When asked which legacy character he would bring back, Arquette’s love for Dewey was obvious—but he also gave nods to Billy and others:
“Dewey should have… he would’ve given himself up for his sister. But no—him too. Billy too. Bring back… dude,” he said, laughing.
He also touched on what it takes to make this next installment resonate with fans:
“This is supposed to be a really scary one… Fans are so smart nowadays. You really have to understand what they enjoy and how to bring that to them.”
And speaking of scary—this Ghostface is next-level. Having seen the film, I can tell you it’s bloodier, more brutal, and smarter than anything we’ve seen before. Every scene is tense, every kill feels unpredictable, and even with all the callbacks and fan service, you can’t let your guard down. This is a Ghostface that feels calculated, relentless, and downright terrifying.
The premiere itself was electric, with live performances, dancers, and all the energy that makes the Scream franchise so meta and self-aware. Director Kevin Williamson, co-writer Guy Busick, and producers William Sherak, James Vanderbilt, and Paul Neinstein were all on hand to celebrate the film—and you could feel how much love and care went into balancing legacy characters with the new cast.
For fans, the message is clear: Scream 7 isn’t just another sequel. With returning stars, fresh faces, and an evolved, bloodier Ghostface, it’s shaping up to be one of the franchise’s most intense chapters yet.
Scream 7 hits theaters, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, ScreenX, premium formats, and IMAX today!
