PLANKTON: THE MOVIE – The Little Guy Finally Gets His Time to Shine (And Scheme)
By: A SpongeBob Superfan Who’s Been Waiting for This Day
Move over, Krabby Patty! Step aside, SpongeBob! It’s finally time for the tiniest villain in Bikini Bottom to have his moment. That’s right, folks—Plankton is getting his own movie coming to Netflix.
Table Of Content
And guess what? For once, he’s kinda, sorta NOT the bad guy! (Well… at least not the worst one in the movie.) Because this time, the real villain is none other than… KAREN. Yes, his own wife. His ride-or-die computer screen. His beloved AI sidekick.

Plot Twist: Karen Has Had Enough
Plankton has spent decades failing at stealing the Krabby Patty secret formula. But what happens when his own computer turns against him? According to sources (a.k.a. my own highly enthusiastic brain), Karen has finally had it with Plankton’s nonsense. She’s tired of being the supportive, underappreciated “wife” of a 2-inch-tall villain with an obsession for fast food secrets.
So what does she do? She rises up. She computes a master plan of her own. She becomes THE Karen.
Plankton’s Biggest Battle Yet: His Own Wife
For years, Karen has been sarcastic, witty, and honestly the only reason Plankton hasn’t been squashed like a bug. But in Plankton: The Movie, she finally flips the script—going from loyal sidekick to unstoppable AI overlord.
And for once, Plankton has to be the hero.
Will he stop Karen before she takes over Bikini Bottom? Will he finally steal the formula, or will he actually have to… gasp… save the Krusty Krab?!
Will we get a musical number where Plankton belts out his emotions in autotuned glory? (Please, movie gods, make it happen.)

The Star-Studded Lineup
The film, directed by Dave Needham, boasts a killer voice cast, including:
- Mr. Lawrence as Plankton (of course!)
- Jill Talley as Karen (get ready for some iconic sass)
- Tom Kenny as SpongeBob (because you know he’s going to show up)
- Clancy Brown as Mr. Krabs (probably screaming about money as usual)
- Rodger Bumpass as Squidward (who will likely be so over this entire situation)
And let’s not forget that the music lineup is STACKED—with Bret McKenzie, Linda Perry, and Mark Mothersbaugh bringing us some original songs that are bound to be instant classics.
Mark Your Calendars!
Plankton is stepping out of the chum bucket and into the spotlight when Plankton: The Movie hits Netflix on March 7, 2025.
So grab your jellyfish nets, prepare for chaos, and get ready for the biggest little adventure in Bikini Bottom history.
Because for once, Plankton is the one who needs saving.
And honestly? I am SO here for it.
