The Royal Ball spirals into disaster, the kingdom falls into turmoil, and an ambitious villain named Priscilla seizes the opportunity to claim the throne. With the kingdom now facing a dangerous new ruler, Lilith is forced into the last partnership anyone would expect—working alongside Cinderella herself.
Together, the unlikely duo embarks on a wild journey through a fantasy world filled with biker trolls, relentless henchmen, and the mysterious Screaming Woods. Along the way, they’ll battle monsters, dodge magical mayhem, and discover that repairing their fractured relationship might be just as important as saving the kingdom.
Rather than telling another traditional princess story, Steps looks determined to ask what happens after labels like “hero” and “villain” stop defining people. By placing the misunderstood stepsisters at the center of the narrative, Netflix appears to be offering a fresh perspective on a classic tale while embracing themes of redemption, family, forgiveness, and finding your own identity. The creative talent behind the film is equally exciting. The movie is directed by Alyce Tzue, whose award-winning storytelling earned her a Student Academy Award Gold Medal, alongside Disney animation veteran John Ripa, best known as co-director of Raya and the Last Dragon.
