
Music And Mayhem Take Over Gotham City In Latest Joker: Folie À Deux Trailer
Warner Bros. just released the second trailer for “Joker: Folie à Deux,” and it’s clear that Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga are bringing even more music and mayhem to Gotham City than ever before.
The sequel to the 2019 hit “Joker” promises to delve deeper into the psyche of Arthur Fleck, portrayed by Phoenix, as he navigates life in Arkham Asylum. Lady Gaga, who plays his love interest, adds a new layer of complexity and intrigue to the story, blending musical elements with the dark, chaotic world of Gotham.

“Joker: Folie à Deux” finds Arthur Fleck institutionalized at Arkham Asylum, awaiting trial for his crimes as the Joker. Struggling with his dual identity, Arthur discovers true love and the music that has always been within him. The film also features Oscar nominees Brendan Gleeson (“The Banshees of Inisherin”) and Catherine Keener (“Get Out,” “Capote”), alongside Zazie Beetz, who reprises her role from “Joker.”
Phillips, who was nominated for Oscars for directing, writing, and producing “Joker,” directed “Joker: Folie à Deux” from a screenplay he co-wrote with fellow Oscar nominee Scott Silver, based on characters from DC. The film was produced by Phillips, Oscar nominee Emma Tillinger Koskoff, and Joseph Garner, with Lady Gaga serving as music consultant. The film’s executive producers include Michael E. Uslan, Georgia Kacandes, Silver, Mark Friedberg, and Jason Ruder.
Phillips’s team from “Joker” returns behind the camera, including Oscar-nominated director of photography Lawrence Sher, production designer Mark Friedberg, Oscar-nominated editor Jeff Groth, and composer Hildur Guðnadóttir, who won the Oscar for her work on the first film. New to the team is Oscar-nominated costume designer Arianne Phillips (“Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood,” “Don’t Worry Darling”). Ruder serves as the film’s executive music producer, with Randall Poster and George Drakoulias as music supervisors. Casting is by Francine Maisler (“Dune,” “Challengers”).

Warner Bros. Pictures presents a Joint Effort Production, a film by Todd Phillips, “Joker: Folie à Deux.” The film will be released worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, premiering in theaters nationwide on October 4, 2024, and internationally beginning on October 2, 2024.
