
Fewer Shows, Bigger Impact: Marvel’s New Disney+ Strategy Unveiled
Disney hosted the Upfront event to discuss the future of many shows on Disney+, FX, and Hulu. There are going to be lots of changes in many Marvel projects and presentations of Daredevil, Born Again, and Wonderman.
Daredevil: Born Again has gained 1.4 million subscribers on Disney Plus due to the success of the show it gains Disney CEO optimism for the future of Disney. Season 2 is currently being filmed, and there are already plans for the show to have a third season.

“We need an Army” is what Daredevil intends to have now that Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin, and Mayor of New York, has taken over New York City, and it’s up to Matt Murdock, Karen Page, Churish, Josey, and some of the New York Cops to face against Kingpin. Footages were shared at the event where Daredevil, The Punisher, and Jessica Jones are teaming up.

The last time we saw Jessica Jones at the end of season 3, her sister Trish was sent to the Raft, ready to leave behind her superhero life and her business Alias Investigation. Things change quickly when she hears Kilgrave’s voice as she accepts her superhero life and decides to go back to Alias Investigations. Now, Krysten Ritter is back and is set to return as Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. No confirmation yet if fans can expect Mike Colter, Finn Jones to reprise as Luke Cage and Iron Fist.

“Where is Simon Williams’ spotlight, cause it’s showtime!” Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is set to play Simon Williams in Marvel’s new live-action Superhero show, Wonderman. The show will be a Hollywood Comedy as Simon Williams is set on becoming an actor, and with the help of Trevor Slattery as his acting coach, to help build his career. Simon Williams will be audtioning for the role of Wonderman as it will be a Movie in the Marvel Universe but nothing shows yet of Simon Willams will have powers in the upcoming project. The show will be released in December 2025 with eight 30-minute-long episodes for the upcoming show. Simon Williams’ origin may differ from the comics, but can we expect him to join the Avengers or be in a romantic relationship with Wanda Maximoff in future MCU projects?

There will be many changes for the Marvel Annual release strategy to release two to three movies, two animated shows, and one to two live-action shows per year. There was much backlash from fans due to the rushed plot on many projects, poor scripting, and CGI. Disney CEO Bob Iger is already acknowledge of the situation and will be focusing on the quality over quantity for many Disney projects. Disney Plus shows will no longer bring in big Marvel Actors to star in Disney Plus shows, but fans will see it one more time next year, show starring Paul Bettany’s’ Vision Standalone series. Lastly, now all Disney Plus Marvel shows stand on their own without acknowledging the entire overall MCU storyline, but will remain connected.
