“Lee,” is Ellen Kuras’s directorial debut, and chronicles a crucial decade in the life of Lee Miller, an American war correspondent and photographer played by Kate Winslet. The story follows Miller’s unique talent, as a Vogue model, muse to Pablo Picasso and Roland Penrose. Miller had many talents such as directing her own photography studio, being a photo journalist, and her relentless determination helped her capture some of the most memorable war images of the 20th century. Throughout her career she created and captured a famous photo of herself in Hitler’s private bathtub, an iconic moment and a pillar in history.

Lee’s story hasn’t been told like thus before and director Ellen Kuras and writer by Liz Hannah, truly pay homage in an incredible way. “Lee” is a feature film produced by Kate Solomon, Kate Winslet, Troy Lum, Andrew Mason, Marie Savare, and Lauren Hantz. The film stars Kate Winslet, Josh O’Connor, Andrea Riseborough, Andy Samberg, Alexander Skarsgård, and Marion Cotillard.
The film follows a journey into Miller’s deep passion and understanding of women and the often voiceless victims of war. Her photographs vividly convey the vulnerability and intensity of the human condition. Miller ws the first of her kind, female journalist who used her talent to show the world the path that it was heading towards with graphic images of war and casualty, a testament to the future go photojournalism and how we see the terror of the world’s conflicts.
