For more than two decades, Jackass has entertained audiences by turning outrageous stunts, painful pranks and fearless chaos into one of pop culture’s most recognizable franchises. Steve-O Says His Worst Injury Was Never Filmed
When asked about the most “Jackass” thing he’d ever done that wasn’t filmed, Steve-O stunned fans with a story even longtime viewers had never heard.
He revealed that arguably his worst injury ever happened away from the cameras after he threw himself from a second-story balcony onto concrete.
The fall left him with a broken cheekbone, seven broken teeth, a broken wrist and ten stitches in his chin.
“I was just laying there face down on the concrete in a pool of blood,” Steve-O recalled, adding that people genuinely thought he had died.
Ironically, one of the most brutal injuries of his life never became part of the franchise’s legendary footage.
Johnny Knoxville’s Simple Rule for Life
Johnny Knoxville offered perhaps the night’s most memorable quote when asked what Jackass has taught him about life.
“It’s important to have really good friends, find your tribe and be grateful for that.”
Despite building a career around outrageous stunts and fearless pranks, Knoxville’s answer highlighted the friendships that have kept the group together for decades.
“Find Joy” Was the Cast’s Biggest Message
Although each cast member answered differently, one theme appeared throughout the evening—enjoy life.
Several members spoke about living in the moment, embracing adventure and surrounding yourself with people who genuinely care about you.
One cast member summed it up perfectly:
“Life is to be enjoyed.”
Another added that Jackass taught him to commit completely to whatever you choose to do and appreciate every moment because life is fragile.
Pain Is Temporary… Film Is Forever
One of the funniest answers of the night came when a cast member was asked what Jackass had taught him about life.
His response?
“Pain is temporary. Film is forever.”
It’s a line that perfectly captures the spirit that made the franchise famous.
Could Fans Ever Join Jackass?
One question fans have debated for years is whether there could ever be a public version of Jackass, allowing fans to participate.
The answer was pretty clear.
While the cast appreciated the enthusiasm, they admitted they would never want fans putting themselves in danger.
As one member explained, waivers simply aren’t enough when it comes to the risks involved.
The Untold Stories Keep Coming
The off-camera stories didn’t stop there.
One cast member shared that he once injured his finger during an incident involving what he jokingly referred to as “Jackass’ butthole,” forcing him to explain the bizarre injury to a doctor.
Another laughed about swallowing a spoonful of flour, only to realize it turns into dough in your throat. The situation quickly became dangerous, requiring emergency help to keep him breathing.
Others admitted to countless reckless adventures growing up that somehow never made it onto film.

More Than Stunts
While Jackass has always been about outrageous entertainment, the interviews revealed something fans don’t always see.
Behind the broken bones and unbelievable stunts is a genuine friendship that has lasted for decades.
The cast repeatedly spoke about community, brotherhood, loyalty and supporting one another through life’s highs and lows.
It’s that chemistry—just as much as the stunts—that has kept audiences coming back for years.
The Legacy of Jackass
After more than twenty years of broken bones, unforgettable pranks and countless laughs, the Jackass cast proved their greatest legacy may not simply be the chaos they created.
Instead, it’s the friendships they built, the joy they brought to millions of fans and the reminder that sometimes life is about taking chances, laughing at yourself and making unforgettable memories with the people around you.
Whether they were sharing painful injuries that never made the final cut or reflecting on what the franchise has taught them, one thing became clear—the spirit of Jackass has always been about much more than the stunts.
