WonderCon 2025 is here and we headed to the “Dive Deep with Clips And Conversations with Prime Video’s Invincible.” In light of Season 3’s release, Executive Producer Simon Racioppa and several behind-the-scenes creators took the stage to discuss the game-changing moments of the season with a season 4 tease.

Co-showrunner and executive producer Simon Racioppa, art director Dou Hong, and supervising producers and directors Shaun O’Neil and Dan Duncan delved into major storylines and pivotal moments from Invincible Season 3. The series, based on the critically acclaimed comic by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, continues to push boundaries in animation and storytelling.
The panel touched on the show’s growth. Hong noted that the series has continually improved, especially in its animation and storytelling. “The elevation of the animation and the story,” she said, highlighting how both aspects have evolved from season to season.
Next came a discussion of the emotional moment from Season 3 when Mark Grayson (voiced by Steven Yeun) confesses his feelings to Atom Eve (Gillian Jacobs). After screening the clip, Racioppa emphasized how moments like these are a collective effort, involving actors, the crew, and composers. Duncan added that crafting romance scenes isn’t too different from action scenes, aside from the pacing.

On how this moment shifted the overall plot, Racioppa added, “Well, they weren’t dating before, and now they are,” before adding more seriously, “There’s more story to come there. This is just one step.” Duncan said, “They were friends, and now they’re partners… It raises the stakes… You care even more.”
The panel also showcased a clip of Rex-Splode’s (voiced by Jason Mantzoukas) death during Invincible War. Racioppa recalled spending hours with Mantzoukas on ADR to perfect the scene. He remarked that Rex-Splode had evolved from a “lovable jerk” to a sacrificial hero. O’Neil clarified that while Rex tried harder, he still maintained his lovable jerk persona.
The team then shifted focus to the epic fight between Atom Eve, Conquest (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), and Invincible in the final episode. Duncan praised the script and how sound design played a critical role in selling the 30-minute-long battle. Hong added that Invincible experienced 25 “damage states” throughout the episode, while Conquest had around 15. Racioppa reflected on how exciting it was to have Morgan on board, especially since Yeun was particularly thrilled by his involvement.
At the end of the panel, there were subtle hints about Invincible Season 4, including a potential return of Damian, a new cast that they couldn’t reveal yet, and a space-related teaser. Whether this means the characters will venture into space or if there will be emotional distance between them remains unclear.
An audience member also asked about Thragg, but there was no definitive response regarding his casting—only that the role has been filled.
The final question addressed rumors about Spawn or Savage Dragon appearing in Season 4, but Racioppa firmly stated, “No,” adding that he couldn’t confirm either character’s involvement.
Invincible Season 4 is expected to premiere in 2026.
