
‘Hurricane Katrina: Race Against Time’ A Powerful New Documentary Series to Release This July

This transformative five-part docuseries will premiere July 27 on National Geographic and stream next day exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu.
On August 29, 2005, the citizens of southeastern Louisiana experienced one of the deadliest and devastating natural disasters in U.S. history. Ultimately becoming one of the most impactful moments in the New Orleans community.
Ahead of the 20th anniversary of this tragedy, National Geographic has released the official trailer and first-look of the powerful five-part docuseries series that offers an unprecedented, heart-pounding look at the disaster directly from those who lived through it.
Through unprecedented access to archival footage and gut-wrenching eyewitness testimony, HURRICANE KATRINA: RACE AGAINST TIME is a gripping historical record of the storm and its aftermath. With unflinching urgency, the series exposes how a natural disaster became a national tragedy. The riveting, moment-by-moment portrayal offers new details of how the storm and ensuing flood unfolded in real time and transports viewers into the chaos that engulfed the city in the days leading up to and following the hurricane’s landfall.
The series is executive produced by award-winning filmmakers Simon Chinn and Jonathan Chinn (Lightbox) and Ryan Coogler (Proximity Media), and directed by Oscar nominee Traci A. Curry (Attica), whose work has pushed the needle on culture and amplified voices across the nation
HURRICANE KATRINA: RACE AGAINST TIME will premiere July 27 at 8/7c on National Geographic with three back-to-back episodes, the full series will be available to stream on Hulu and Disney+ the following day.
