Fandom’s SDCC 2026 Kick-Off Party Rocks with Billie Joe Armstrong, Bruce Dickinson & The Coverups

The biggest surprise of the night came when The Coverups, fronted by Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, took the stage for an incredible live performance. As if that wasn’t enough, Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson made a special appearance, sending the packed crowd into a frenzy. It was a once-in-a-lifetime rock moment that instantly became one of the most talked-about highlights leading into SDCC.
Presented by Xbox’s Halo: Campaign Evolved, the annual party has become one of the hottest invitations during Comic-Con, welcoming thousands of fans, celebrities, industry professionals, creators, and media members for an unforgettable evening.

Immersive Experiences Brought Fans Together
Beyond the celebrity appearances and incredible live music, attendees were treated to several interactive activations throughout the venue.
Gamers had the opportunity to step inside a dedicated Halo: Campaign Evolved play zone, giving fans an exclusive hands-on preview before the game’s worldwide launch on July 28.
Guests also enjoyed colorful refreshments inspired by Japan’s famous konbini convenience stores, courtesy of 196 Vodka Seltzer by Suntory Global Spirits. The vibrant drinks became one of the most photographed experiences of the evening.
Meanwhile, Z2 Comics showcased exclusive custom-designed merchandise celebrating the upcoming graphic novel and feature film And Out Comes the Wolf, giving attendees a chance to grab collectibles that won’t be found anywhere else.

We had the opportunity to attend this incredible event, and it’s safe to say it exceeded every expectation.
From the moment we walked in, the energy was absolutely contagious. The music never stopped, people were dancing throughout the venue, and every corner was filled with fans celebrating the start of another unforgettable Comic-Con.
One of the best parts of the night was reconnecting with familiar faces we hadn’t seen in quite some time. Comic-Con has always been about community, and this party perfectly reminded us why. Whether we were catching up with friends, meeting fellow creators, or simply enjoying conversations with other attendees, the atmosphere felt welcoming, exciting, and full of positive energy.
Then came the performance.
Watching The Coverups take the stage with Billie Joe Armstrong was already an incredible experience, but when Bruce Dickinson appeared, the crowd absolutely erupted. Everyone was singing, dancing, and living in the moment. It felt less like a private industry event and more like an unforgettable rock concert shared among thousands of passionate fans.
We honestly had the time of our night rocking out with everyone. The nonstop music, amazing conversations, incredible entertainment, and overall atmosphere reminded us exactly why Comic-Con week remains one of our favorite times of the year.
