Eddie Murphy and Stars Celebrate Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley
At the world premiere of Netflix’s “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F,” set for release on Wednesday, July 3, the red carpet was graced by stars Eddie Murphy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Kevin Bacon, Paul Reiser, Bronson Pinchot, Affion Crockett, Christopher McDonald, Damien Diaz, and Chantal Nchako. Director Mark Molloy and producer Jerry Bruckheimer were joined by composer Lorne Balfe and Grammy-winning hip-hop artist Lil Nas X, who recently announced his original song featured in the film.
The event drew a star-studded crowd, including Cedric the Entertainer, Martin Lawrence, Sugar Ray Leonard, Loni Love, Jay Pharoah, Sasha Pieterse, Keegan-Michael Key, Kyra Sedgwick, Kyle McLaughlin, Michael Massini, Elisa Donovan, Michael Blackson, Kyla Pratt, Reggie Hudlin, and Byron Allen.
Guests mingled at a festive pre-party, posing with replicas of Axel’s classic Chevy Nova, donning Axel’s famous Detroit jacket, and enjoying Detroit Coney dogs, Faygo soda, and Better Made chips served from the Motor City Mini Mart. The event also featured giveaways of Champion-designed Mumford Phys Ed sweatshirts and concluded with a surprise performance by Detroit’s multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated star Big Sean.
It’s been nearly 30 years since we last saw the fast-talking Detroit cop. Still, Axel Foley is back and ready for action in “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F.” This time, Axel is on patrol in Beverly Hills once again, joined by a mix of old friends, new allies, and maybe even a family member as producer Jerry Bruckheimer (Top Gun: Maverick, The Rock) tells Tudum, “Eddie’s such an incredible artist. He can do drama, he can do comedy – he can do anything. And he’s the same Axel Foley. He’s still on the streets, still doing what he does best. Obviously with age comes wisdom, but he still has that twinkle in his eye.” Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime with the one and only Axel Foley!
Catch it on July 3 on Netflix!
