Despicable Me 4 Introduces Will Ferrell As New Villain
Illumination just dropped the latest trailer for Despicable Me 4, making a grand return with the epic “mega” transformation of everyone’s beloved Minions. Get ready for belly laughs and wild adventures!
After a seven-year hiatus, the world’s beloved former supervillain and now Anti-Villain League agent, Gru, returns in a thrilling new chapter of Minions mayhem with Illumination’s “Despicable Me 4.” This follows the 2022 blockbuster hit “Minions: The Rise of Gru,” which peaked nearly $1 billion globally, solidifying its status as the biggest animated franchise for children worldwide. In this new installment, Gru (voiced by Oscar® nominee Steve Carell) and Lucy (Oscar® nominee Kristen Wiig), along with their daughters Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier), and Agnes (Madison Polan), welcome an exciting yet mischievous addition to their family, Gru Jr.

Gru’s life gets even more hectic when he confronts a new villain, Maxime Le Mal (Emmy winner Will Ferrell), and his formidable girlfriend, Valentina (Emmy nominee Sofia Vergara). With new adversaries on their tail, the family finds themselves on a wild escape.
“Despicable Me 4” introduces wonderful new characters voiced by talents including Joey King (Bullet Train), Emmy winner Stephen Colbert (The Late Show with Stephen Colbert), and Chloe Fineman (Saturday Night Live). Returning to the franchise are Pierre Coffin as the iconic Minions and Oscar® nominee Steve Coogan as Silas Ramsbottom.
Directed by Minions co-creator and Oscar® nominee Chris Renaud (Despicable Me, The Secret Life of Pets) and produced by Illumination’s founder and CEO Chris Meledandri, along with Brett Hoffman, the film is also co-directed by Patrick Delage. The screenplay comes from Emmy winner Mike White (White Lotus) and Ken Daurio, who has penned each film in the Despicable Me series. Loaded with non-stop action and Illumination’s signature subversive humor, “Despicable Me 4” promises to be an unforgettable adventure.
