Dave Franco & Allison Brie Tease Major Universe and Big Twist in ‘Together’
We’ve finally reached the end of the press tour for Together—what a fun and wild journey it’s been! The cast, crew, and creative team brought us along for a ride full of passion, horror, and heart, and it all culminated last night when Dave Franco, Alison Brie, and Michael Shanks lit up the red carpet at the Together premiere.

Honestly, even if the power had gone out, the vibes from these three alone would’ve lit up the room. Fans, influencers, and friends filled the venue, buzzing with excitement to see a film made with love, a splash of horror, and just the right amount of comedic relief.
Michael Shanks was the first to hit the carpet, beaming with pride—the kind of smile that said, “We did it.” You could tell how much this project meant to him and how proud he was of the cast and crew. Then came Alison Brie, stunning in a bold red gown, but it was her warm, genuine smile that truly stole the spotlight. Finally, Dave Franco stepped out—cool, confident, and radiating that same glow. And when Alison joined him, the crowd audibly gasped. For a second, we all wondered if they’d stick together (pun intended), but thankfully, they saved that twist for the movie.
After the photos, the trio came down to chat—and not one of them shied away from questions. They genuinely enjoyed every moment, and we definitely had the best time talking with them!
Michael Shanks, full of energy and excitement, lit up again when we brought up Together’s perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. When asked how it felt, he simply said, “It’s a dream come true.” He called it corny—but honestly, it was inspiring. Michael wrote the film six years ago, and now it’s “locked into place,” ready for the world.
This has been a breakout year for indie films, and Together proves you don’t need a huge budget to make something great. When we mentioned the award season buzz, Michael laughed and said, “That’s ridiculous—something’s wrong.” But we reminded him: there’s nothing wrong with a movie that makes people laugh, scream, and connect. That’s the magic of storytelling. He said, “We just hoped we scared them and made them laugh a bit”—mission accomplished.
So what’s next for Michael? “It’s been weird… I used to struggle to get agents on the phone. Now people are reaching out to me.” He’s hoping to revive a science fiction script he once had on the blacklist. And when asked about joining a major franchise—especially after Robert Downey Jr. reached out to praise Together—Michael admitted that would be a “dream come true.” He grew up loving those films and wouldn’t say no to the opportunity.
He also praised Dave and Alison, saying the film wouldn’t have worked without the real-life closeness they brought to their roles: “They’re such pros and so comfortable being vulnerable with each other.” Their chemistry made the whole project click.

When it was time to chat with Dave and Alison, their faces lit up when we brought up that 100% Rotten Tomatoes score. Alison described the whole experience as “truly amazing,” calling the film a “labor of love” that they made with “very little money” and in a “short amount of time.” Despite those limitations, they had “the best time” making exactly the movie they wanted—and now it’s resonating with audiences. That, Alison said, is “truly satisfying.” Dave chimed in to say how “special” it was to make it together. (Power couple moment alert!)
Exclusive: Expect the UNEXPECTED- BMF Season 4 is explosive
At one point, they had an adorable back-and-forth with the mic, and I had to jump in to let them know—they are total couple goals. Separately, they each bring a bright, positive energy that fills a room, but together? It’s something special. You can’t help but smile when they’re around.
Covering this red carpet was an absolute blast. The energy, the laughs, the love for filmmaking—it was all there. Together is more than just another horror film. It’s heartfelt, smart, and sneakily emotional. You’ll laugh, you’ll scream, and you might even find yourself asking, “What would happen if I was connected to my partner… literally?” And then you’ll scream again.
Before wrapping up, I had to ask the big question—as a verified nerd—would they ever join a major franchise? Alison didn’t miss a beat, reminding us that she just wrapped filming for Masters of the Universe, officially stepping into that franchise world. Naturally, Dave beamed with pride, clearly thrilled for her.
Then we turned the spotlight to Dave’s own superhero roots—remember when he voiced the Riddler in Young Justice? “It’s crazy,” he said, laughing, “because that was 20 years ago, and it still comes up.” I told him his name is constantly floated as a fan-favorite to play the Joker someday. His response? “Those are too big of shoes to fill.” But come on—we think he’d be perfect.
In fact, Alison jumped in and said it herself: she wants Dave to play the Riddler again—and we all agreed. James Gunn, if you’re reading this, please call Dave Franco ASAP.
Make sure to catch Together when it releases on July 30th. Trust me—you don’t want to miss this one.
