A Franchise That Keeps Giving
Chandler shared her amazement at how far the Zombies series has come since she first joined the franchise. “I never imagined when I was 18 filming Zombies 2 that I’d still be a part of this world as I’m about to turn 25,” she said. “It’s been such a beautiful journey. This franchise really is the gift that keeps on giving for all of us, and the fans feel that passion just as much as we do.”
She expressed excitement about the open-ended nature of the franchise, teasing that the possibilities are endless. “We’re always here to deliver and can’t wait to keep exploring this world.”
Personal Growth Through Willa
Kinney also reflected on how playing Willa has helped her personally grow, especially in confidence. “Willa is such a confident, self-assured person. Stepping into those shoes pushed me beyond my comfort zone in so many beautiful ways,” she shared. “It’s forced me to step up, and I love that this character models that for young viewers — showing them how to own their confidence.”
Legally Blonde Prequel Series
Fans are also buzzing about Chandler’s role in the upcoming Legally Blonde prequel series. She hinted at how the show will blend nostalgia with fresh storytelling for a new generation: “It’s a prequel, so you get to see the ‘before’ of characters you know and love. It’s exciting to introduce a new generation to this world while honoring the original.”
Though still in production, she expressed enthusiasm for the series and the chance to be part of such an iconic story.

Vampires or Zombies?
When asked a fun fan question — whether she’d rather be a vampire or a zombie — Chandler quickly chose vampire, partly because of the edgy aesthetic but also because her character Willa forms a special connection with the vampires in the Zombies universe. “I still have my vampire fangs from filming and wear them sometimes for fun!” she laughed.
What to Expect from Zombies 4
Chandler described Zombies 4 as a step up in maturity and cinematic scope compared to the earlier films. While the original Zombies movies took place primarily in the colorful town of Seabrook, the latest installment expands the world to new dimensions, filmed in the majestic landscapes of New Zealand. “It feels darker and richer in tone — like the stakes are higher. Fans will notice a more cinematic quality that’s a bit unexpected but really exciting,” she said.
She also highlighted how the fan base has matured along with the franchise, which makes this evolution feel natural and earned.
A Generational Fandom
Kinney loves that Zombies has become a generational favorite — one she shares with her own young daughter. “My daughter is six and she loves Zombies, too. It’s amazing when a story grows with you and your family.”
With Chandler Kinney’s candid insights, Zombies 4 promises to be a vibrant, deeper chapter in a franchise that continues to captivate old fans while welcoming new ones.
