While Lopez and Affleck have since gone their separate ways, the two reunited professionally for Kiss of the Spider Woman — a project Lopez says wouldn’t have happened without him.
In a CBS Sunday Morning interview aired September 28, Lopez revealed that Affleck and his company Artists Equitywere instrumental in bringing her dream role to life.
“The movie wouldn’t have been made if it wasn’t for [Affleck] and Artists Equity,” Lopez said. “I told him, ‘This is a role that I was born to play,’ and I wanted to do it, and he said ‘Okay,’ and he helped make it happen.”
Kiss of the Spider Woman is an adaptation of the 1993 Broadway musical of the same name — a powerful story that explores love, imagination, and survival, reimagined by Lopez and Condon for a new generation.
