The nominations, announced on November 25, sparked excitement across Hollywood, with The Substance, a chilling body horror film, and the dazzling musical fantasy Wicked leading the charge with eight nods each. Wicked swept the night, taking home eight awards, including the coveted Best Picture and Best Director for Jon M. Chu.

As the second ceremony under the rebranded Astra Awards name, the night was full of fresh energy and bold updates. A new category, “Best Performance in a Horror or Thriller,” made its debut. At the same time, traditional genres got an exciting twist: “Best Action Feature” welcomed science fiction, “Best Comedy Feature” embraced musicals, and “Best Horror Feature” now included thrillers.
