You thought A Simple Favor was wild? Oh, you haven’t seen anything yet. Another Simple Favor takes everything we loved about the first film—glamour, mystery, dark humor, and Blake Lively in jaw-dropping outfits—and cranks it all up to luxurious chaos mode.

Paul Feig? The man gets it. He knows how to serve up a cocktail of sharp wit, ridiculous plot twists, and those OMG, did that just happen?! moments that keep you gasping one second and cackling the next. And this time, we’re not just dealing with suburban secrets—we’re jet-setting to Capri, where the fashion is just as killer as the mystery itself.

So, let’s talk about Emily (Blake Lively). She’s still ICONIC and nuts at the same time, obviously, but this time around, she might not even be the most unhinged person in the room—which, trust me, is saying a lot. There are multiple twists that branch out from that little detail, and at the heart of it all is the evolving (and surviving?) friendship between Emily and Stephanie (Anna Kendrick). Watching them navigate this rollercoaster of deception, murder, and outrageous luxury is what makes the film so fun. It’s chaotic, it’s ridiculous, and somehow, it’s still kind of heartwarming?
And can we talk about the fashion for a second? Because big hats. So. Many. Big. Hats. Blake Lively is out here making a case for oversized headwear supremacy, and honestly, I respect it. The costumes alone make this movie feel extra extravagant, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they get their own fan club.

But beyond the killer outfits, what really sells the film is the banter. From Sean to Dante, to Emily’s (let’s call them very interesting) family members, everyone brings their own brand of chaos to the table. And even Bashir Salahuddin, who tragically never made it to Capri (justice for Bashir!), still delivers some of the funniest moments just from playing detective over the phone.
So, is it better than the first movie? I wouldn’t say better—I’d say different. It has a fresh vibe, a new setting, and an extra layer of insanity that somehow still works. Sure, some things might shock you (or even annoy you), but that’s part of the fun. If you loved A Simple Favor, you’re in for another deliciously twisted treat. Just be prepared—some characters might not make it out unscathed, but hey, that’s the price of another simple favor.
Streaming on Prime Video starting May 1, 2025—don’t miss it! 🎩🍸✨
